Sommer holidays in Terenten

Sunshine, mountains & plenty
of outdoor fun

As the sun rises above the mountain peaks in the morning, another day full of opportunities begins during your summer holidays in Pustertal: In the village of Terenten, at 1,210 meters above sea level, summer is as varied as the Pustertal itself. Starting directly from our Residence, you may embark on your most memorable holiday experiences – on foot, by mountain bike, or strolling through one of the region’s charming towns.

Hiking in Pustertal…

…Walking on sunny trails

Terenten is a hiker’s paradise. Gentle meadow slopes, shady forests, and sweeping views of the Dolomites accompany your every step. The family-friendly and educational Mill Trail leads past ancient grain mills, while the Panorama Trail showcases, among many other highlights, the Terenten Earth Pyramids. For those seeking higher altitudes, the trail continues to the alpine lodge TiefrastenhĂĽtte at 2,312 meters. Just a short walk above lies the crystal-clear mountain lake Tiefrastensee, nestled amidst a rugged, rocky landscape. From here, experienced mountaineers often tackle the 2,730-meter peak Eidechsspitze. If you take a hike on the Alpine Rose Trail in early summer, the crisp mountain air is filled with the fragrance of blooming alpine roses. Although some hikers may prefer the aroma of the traditional alpine hut fare featuring South Tyrolean Speck (smoked bacon), alpine cheese, and SchĂĽttelbrot (crispy flatbreads).

A variety of summer activities…

…in and around Terenten

When you’re mountain biking along alpine trails during your active holidays in Pustertal, you’ll feel the altitude difference in your calves and be rewarded not only with adrenaline-charged descents but also with spectacular views. At the high-ropes course Kronaction in Issing or the Skytrek in Sterzing, you’ll experience dizzying heights before taking a refreshing dip in the idyllic lake Issinger Weiher. Another popular destination on hot summer days is the adventure pool Cron4 in the nearby village of Reischach. Those who prefer a more relaxed pace may stroll to the Kneipp water-treading facility or enjoy a leisurely round of mini-golf in the village centre.

Culture & South
Tyrolean Lifestyle

Even away from the mountains, there’s plenty to discover during your summer vacation in Terenten: In Bruneck, you may stroll through lively streets, shop in charming boutiques, and let the aroma of freshly baked cakes and aromatic coffee tempt you in street cafĂ©s. Brixen beckons with historic alleyways, baroque churches, and museums. Bolzano, on the other hand, is characterized by its charming blend of alpine lifestyle and Mediterranean flair: The arcaded streets are lined with nostalgic traditional shops, and you can enjoy the taste of Italian gelato in the sunshine – perhaps before paying a visit to Ă–tzi the Iceman at the Archaeological Museum. At the Messner Mountain Museum on Mount Kronplatz, you’ll once again immerse yourself in the world of mountains – this time with spectacular exhibitions.
